Do Natural Skin Products Always Mean Better?

Mother Nature did a great job of providing most of the things we needed for natural skin care products. However, in today's hyped up world of health products, natural is not always better.

Natural skin care is often a beauty buzzword that cosmetic companies apply to everything from makeup to food, often in a bid to win over more consumers and increase their price. There are two problems with the premise that natural is always better. Most of these mainstream products contain miniscule amounts of these natural ingredients and they're combined with a plethora of additives. And the second - it all depends on what "natural" means to that manufacturer.

Are the ingredients all natural? All from the earth or are they chemically-infused? And when you place natural ingredients in a bottle decorated with flowers and herbs on the front for the consumers benefit and combines those natural ingredients with common irritants and synthetic additives, is it still a natural skin care product?

Nature is full of toxins; arsenic, lead, cyanide - all natural, all deadly. This is why consumers must be careful when adopting the word "natural." Nourishing Natural skin care products help to strengthen your skin, rejuvenate and repair. However, with many manufacturers claiming to be natural, it's confusing to know the poisons from the beneficial skin care products.

Most people don't realize that they must check the ingredients on cleaners, moisturizers, and makeup to avoid pore-clogging elements. And when checking the ingredients, many are not aware of the natural alternatives they could choose. Look for natural skin care products meaning from the earth with little to no chemicals. Here are some great alternatives to the problem ingredients you commonly purchase;

1. Cocoa Butter, Isopropyl Myristate - instead choose Plant oils other than coconut, Kalaya oil, Vegetable Glycerine
2. PABA, Salicylates - instead choose zinc oxide, titanium dioxide
3. Lanolin - instead choose Plant oils, kalaya oil, vegetable glycerine
4. Paraffin - instead choose jojoba, carnauba wax

Be Wary of What Products Claim to Be
