1. Prevent sun damage
The sun may give you a nice tan, but it is not your friend if you want beautiful skin. Almost all the effects of aging can be traced in a big way to sun damage. Wear your sunscreen, and don't spend more time in the sun than you need to.
2. Maintain a healthy diet
This includes eating plenty of fruit and vegetables. Raw foods are rich in nutrients, antioxidants and natural fibre.
3. Drink lots of water
Water is life. Drinking plenty of it helps to keep the skin hydrated, and also helps in the transport of nutrients to the skin.
4. Get some exercise
Why do you think your skin is all red and glowing after you've had a good bit of exercise? It's because its just brimming with blood and life giving oxygen. Exercising strengthens your heart and lungs and gets more oxygen pumping through your body.
5. Stop poisoning yourself
If you smoke, quit it. If you drink excessively, stop doing it. If you take drugs, likewise. Remember that your skin is an organ - hurt your body and you hurt your skin.
6. De-stress
Easier said than done, right? Stress really breaks down your body, and again your skin will be the first to show it. Take an hour out of every day (yes, you can afford it) to just sit somewhere quiet, put on your favorite music, maybe run a bath and just relax. Short deep breathing exercises, which you can do during the day, can also help to calm you down and relieve some stress.
7. Use the right skin care products
I make no secret of the fact that I'm a firm believer in natural skin care products, and one of the biggest secrets to beautiful skin is to find a product line that can help your skin to actively renew itself. So many skin care products just cover up the cracks without being of any real benefit to your skin.
Use products that can stimulate the natural growth of collagen, that can raise the levels of hyaluronic acid and that can provide powerful antioxidants that can penetrate through the top layers of skin.
