How Do Spider Vein Treatments Work?

OK so all of you know that I suffer from spider veins, so the first questions my girlfriends ask when they know is do spider veins treatments work. Here is what I tell them. Around 60% of American women have spider veins and around 50% of American men have them. They are a very big problem, while they are not life threatening they are very embarrassing and pretty gross. So here are the most common treatment methods and how they work.

There are many treatment options for spider veins and most of them work pretty well. There are two main ways to treat spider veins, the natural way or the medical way. (As a little side note, I prefer the natural way, I like natural remedies and it worked for me, but it does not work for everyone so some people have to use the medical way).

Natural Cures

For spider veins natural refers to any creams, lotions or herbal remedies that get rid of spider veins. These products work because the active ingredient they use is Vitamin K. Vitamin K is a natural coagulant which means it helps blood clot, so when the skin absorbs it, it finds the little leaks in the vein walls and plugs them. After the bleeding stops the blue or red veins under the skin fade and disappear in about 4 to 6 weeks. Now I use a Vitamin K cream but, here are a few herbal remedies that work as well. The best natural herbs for spider vein treatments are horse chestnut, bilburries, butcher's broom, gotu kola, ginkgo biloba, and hawthorn.

Medical Cures

There are two main medical procedures people use to cure spider veins. Theses procedures are laser treatment and sclerotherapy. I strong suggest you research each one of these in detail before considering it. So here is how each one works.

Laser Treatments

High intensity lasers are used to cauterize leaks in the veins, this procedure works well and is mildly uncomfortable. It's a lot like getting a bad sunburn.

Sclerotherapy

Is when you are injected with a saline solution to help clot the blood and dissolve it, this procedure also works and is mildly uncomfortable. You have to get 5-8 shots in the affected area to flush it out, (and I hate needles, so this is not an option for me).

So if you have vericose veins do not fret there is a treatment that can work for you. So I would suggest you weighing out all of your options, I prefer natural solutions, so I listed link below to the site where I get my cream from. Keep in mind that the medical cures work well but, they are not cheap.
